New users on Nina get a .15 SOL credit to their upload account. SOL is used to pay the one-time fee required to store your uploads on the blockchain. You can use any sales of your releases to fund future uploads.
On Nina, the audio and image files for your Release are stored on a public blockchain called Arweave - in order to store the files there you have to pay a one time storage fee (~$0.003/MB).
You deposit SOL into an upload account and as you upload files your balance is subtracted relative to the size of the files that you upload. You can think of it as a running tab.
You can also top up your upload account, or withdraw from it.
We recommend always keeping a balance here if you plan to be uploading.
